POSTGRADUATE QUALIFICATIONS
Procedure for PG Diplomas, Honours & BTECH’s • Check F851 to determine if the admission has been verified • If admission verified is yes, register student • If admission has not been verified, send to RMD for scanning and routing to Uniflow work list
New Qualifications • Advanced Diploma in Accounting Sciences 98230 (Bridging qualification for Accounting Sciences stream)*previously 10 modules • Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Sciences (CTA Level 1) 98231 replaces 0569X • Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Auditing 98232 • Postgraduate Diploma in Forensic Auditing 98234 • Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration 98215 (offered by SBL only)

Advanced Diploma Accounting Sciences (98230) Admission Requirement for Bridgingpreviously 10 modules • National Diploma in Accounting • Diploma in Accounting Sciences 98200 • BTech Taxation • BTech Management Accounting • All SAICA accredited degrees older than 3 years • Non SAICA accredited e.g. Uni Venda, Uni Lim, UniZul • Any other qualification - student must first obtain BCom Financial Accounting 98302
CTA Level 1 (98231) (Direct Admission) • SAICA qualification older than 3 years will not be considered for admission • All qualifications completed prior to 2011student must attempt 98230 CTA bridging • BCompt 0202X not older than 3 years • Bachelor Accounting Sciences in Financial Accounting 98302 • Completed Advanced Diploma in Accounting Sciences 98230 (must be completed within a 3 year period)
CTA Level 1 (98231) (Direct Admission) continued • Completed a BCTA - usually this is a bridging course offered at another accredited South African university e.g. UJ and UKZN • Completed National Diploma PLUS BCTA • All Unisa students who have completed the Hons BCom in Fin Accounting 0409X and passed Auditing 3 in their previous degree qualifies for Level 1 provided that the degree is not older than 3 years
CTA Level 2 (98255) (Direct Admission)PG Diploma in Applied Accounting Sciences • CTA Level 1 completed not older than 3 years. All five papers passed in one examination sitting • Completed DIPAC 0569X not older than 3 years (0569X offered for the last time in 2013. Students who did not complete must do CTA Level 1. 04642 offered for the last time in 2013. Those who did not complete must proceed to CTA Level 2) • Attempted CTA at a SAICA accredited university not older than 3 years
CTA Level 2 (98255) continued • All students who completed HonsBCom Gen or HonsBcompt CTA and wish to attempt SAICA Board exams must register for NDP • All students who have finished level 2 and have done 5 unsuccessful attempts at the Board must register for NDP
CTA Level 2 (98255) continued • Students who do not complete all modules in one sitting for both CTA Level 1 and 2 will not receive an ‘Exit’ qualification as was issued in the past E.g 04642 and 0569X phased out end of 2013
Postgraduate Diploma in Management Accounting (CTMA) (98205) Admission requirements: • A CIMA accredited Bachelor’s degree e.g. BCompt (Management Accounting) or • Appropriate Advanced Diploma in Accounting Sciences with Management Accounting 3, Financial Accounting 3 (must be SAICA accredited), Strategic Management 3
Honours in Financial Modelling • Admission must always be referred to the Department • Send registration to RMD for scanning and routing to Uniflow work list
Honours in BCom Economics • Students can only register for two papers in first year of study: micro and macro economics
Honours in Business Management (98452) • Student will be allowed to register for the three research modules concurrently during the January registration period. • Student with completed ND: HRM and MKT will be required to first pass MNG3701 for NDP the 60% rule will still apply
Honours Bcom in Logistics • Refer to page 206 of My Reg (2013), regarding the transitional arrangements for students who have completed the ND: Logistics

New Undergraduate Qualifications • Bachelor of Accounting Science in Taxation (98313) • Bachelor of Commerce in Supply Chain & Operations Management (98766) • Bachelor of Commerce in Public Procurement Management (98767)
General • B Compt: 0202-X • Students who have already passed INM1024 need not register for CBC1501. This module is not however equivalent to INM102-4. Students who switch to the new degrees 98302 must register for CBC1501
Bachelor of Business Administration 98316 • Students can only select electives on all levels from other Colleges • Old BBA 02216 students could select elective modules from CEMS or other Colleges • Students who were incorrectly registered for 98316 in 2012 and 2013 due to the discrepancies in the rules & curriculum will retain credits for elective modules selected from CEMS and such cases must be condoned
General Signature module: Sustainability and Greed (SUS1501) • SUS1501 was introduced in 2013 as CEMS signature module. For those who passed the original modules in the curriculum where SUS was not included, they will retain credit for the module as per the set curriculum. They need not do SUS1501. • For example: Diploma in Human Resource Management (98211) SUS1501 replaced FAC1601. Student that passed FAC1601 need not do SUS1501. Indicate comment on F161
