  1. Paradox: a statement or proposition that seems self-contradictory or absurd but in reality expresses a possible truth

  2. In dealing with the problem of privilege, we have to get used to being surrounded by paradox…such as those having privilege not knowing it. Also paradoxical is the fact that privilege doesn't necessarily lead to a “good life” which can prompt people in privileged groups to deny resentfully that they even have it.

  3. If changing the entire system through our own efforts is a standard against which we measure the ability to do something, then we set ourselves up to feel powerless. “Nothing we do as individuals matters but that it’s vitally important to it do anyway”Gandhi
