Introduction • You have been asked to help solve a mystery that has been around since the 1700s. Archeologists have found remains of several books, plays, and poems that seem to have no authors. It is very important that you help this group of people find out from clues exactly who the author from each work is. Through research and investigation, you will solve the mystery! Task • You, the student, will be assigned a team of three group members. Each team will be assigned sets of questions that will lead to finding out the author to a play, book, and poem. Each of the group members will decide which questions to research on the internet. Through internet research, each question will determine who the author was of the work. Process • 1. Get with group members assigned by Mrs. Yarbrough. • 2. Look at each question carefully. • 3. Assign each member to be head of finding the authors of either plays, books, or poems. • 4. Distribute to different computers. • 5. Through different search engines that we have learned about, research each question and decided on who the author is for the play, book, and poem. • 6. Do a little research on questions that you were not assigned just to make sure that you and your teammates are on the same page. Process Continued • 7. Group back up with teammates to discuss who the author of each was. • 8. Write three paragraphs on your discovery. One paragraph will be on the author of the book, the other on the author of the play, and the last will be about the author of the poem. Tell about your research strategies for each. • 9. Since you are already at a computer, type your paragraph and research analysis of each literary work and author.
