  1. Next Dimension – Vacation Bible School July 23-25, 2019 Day 2

  2. “Review” Session 1-”I am ?” Why? What is salvation and why is it necessary? Road to Romans – What’s the one scripture that if confessed and believed let’s you know a person is saved? Psalms 139 ……For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works,And that my soul knows very well…………

  3. “Review” Session 2-”I am ?” Why? All spiritual gifts are given by _______, through the ______________, according to His sovereign purposes. God does not want us to be _________ concerning spiritual gifts. Every believer has at least ______ gift. All spiritual gifts are gifts of _________. Your gift is not for _____, but for the body of _________. Gifts can be related to, but are distinct from _________.

  4. Session Three – “I am Speaking” Objective: To understand the importance of a prayer language (speaking in tongues).

  5. “I am Speaking” Before we can discuss “speaking”, we must talk about baptism in the Holy Spirit. The word baptism usually refers to the ceremony of baptism with water as an outward sign of receiving Jesus, sins are washed away and one becomes part of the family of God. The word baptize comes from the Greek word baptizo which means to overcome or overwhelm something or someone. Baptism with the HS is when God’s Spirit joins Himself to our spirit and we are regenerated. It’s not the infilling but the outpouring of the Spirit. The Spirit of God overwhelms our spirit. God gave us the Holy Spirit when we accepted Jesus into our life as Lord and Savior. Being baptized in the HS is letting Him out into the rest of you (soul & body). He overwhelms/baptizes the psychological and physical parts of you.

  6. “I am Speaking” All believers are entitled to and should ardently (passionately) expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire (Luke 3:16). With this baptism comes the endowment of power for life and service, the speaking of tongues and the bestowing of the gifts for use in the work of the ministry. (Acts 1:4-8, 2:4) Important to note: 1. Baptism in the HS is a gift from God 2. Must be saved 3. Enhances your quality of life

  7. “I am Speaking” Tongues (Greek: glossa). The spiritual ability to speak an unknown foreign language without learning it beforehand. The gift of tongues is to be used publicly to bring praise to God (1 Cor 14:2) and to edify the body of believers (1 Cor 14:5). Why pray in tongues? 1. Devotional Use: 1 Cor 14:2 says, “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries”. Here, Paul is talking about the individual Spirit-filled believer employing the use of tongues in his prayer life. Through speaking in tongues, you can pray out the plan of God for your life by the power of the Holy Spirit.

  8. “I am Speaking” Why pray in tongues? 2. Spiritual Edification: 1 Cor 14:4 says, “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself.” The word edifieth means “to build up.” Verse 14 in the Amplified Bible Classic reads, “My spirit prays, but my mind is unproductive.” Speaking in tongues isn’t mental edification; it is spiritual edification. 3. Worshiping God: For believers who are filled with the Holy Spirit, tongues are used in their worship and devotion to God. The Bible says in Acts 10:46 concerning Cornelius and his household when they began to speak with tongues, “For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.” Speaking with tongues is a supernatural way to magnify God.

  9. “I am Speaking” Why pray in tongues? 4. Doorway to the Supernatural Speaking with tongues is the doorway into all the other spiritual gifts. You have to go through the door to get into the supernatural. Also, it is as the Spirit of God wills, not as we will (1 Cor. 12:11). In other words, you can’t force or “put on” a manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit. The Bible teaches us to desire spiritual gifts (1 Cor. 14:1). The Bible also teaches us to earnestly covet the best gifts (1 Cor. 12:31). These words were written to people who already spoke in tongues. God has given each of us a supernatural means of edifying ourselves, or building ourselves up, spiritually. God has given to us a supernatural means of communicating with and worshiping Him. As a Spirit-filled believer are you taking full advantage of your ability to speak in tongues?

  10. “I am Speaking” 2 different manifestations of tongues? Individual Operation: Acts 2:1-4, Jude 20, 1 Cor 14:4 – No interpretation needed Corporate Operation: 1 Cor 14:23-28 – Must come with an interpretation

  11. “I am Dreaming” Objective: To understand the purpose of spiritual dreams

  12. “I am Dreaming” Intro: Close your eyes – imagine these things…… Flowers blooming Bird’s chirping Tree’s blowing in the wind Dog’s barking Red convertible Black Cadillac Smelling roses

  13. “I am Dreaming” Did the pictures change in your minds as I changed what I wanted you to imagine? The pictures changed as your thoughts changed according to the objects and the same is true in the dreaming process. What we see or experience during the day & night will affect the symbols of our dreams as our inner man processes these images during our sleep.

  14. “I am Dreaming” The Bible defines a dream in Job 33:15-16 “In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed, 16 Then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction.” The Bible says several things in this one verse. First of all, a dream is a vision of the night. Dreams occur when deep sleep falls upon men. According to the Bible, a vision is something that occurs when a man is awake, while a dream is something that occurs when a man is asleep. Some who study dreams say that we are always dreaming when we sleep, but we only remember the dreams right before we awake. This would actually fit with the scriptures in several cases where men remember a dream that actually woke them up.

  15. “I am Dreaming” What’s the purpose of dreams? Show wisdom that can only come through God Answer prayer; divine guidance or unknown knowledge Show the future, warnings given through motives revealed. Ps 19:2 Make man aware of a realm beyond the natural Ps 17:3 Make Himself known even to those who do not acknowledge Him Job 33:12-18 Dreams can counsel, give warning, impart knowledge and bring solutions to seemingly impossible problems Addl scriptures: Numbers 12:6, Ps 16:7, Ps 3:5, Ps 127:2, Eccl 5:3,7

  16. “I am Dreaming” How do you remember dreams? Before going to sleep, prepare the atmosphere with soaking music, not the TV Pray and repent for anything that would hinder you from being in right standing with God Claim the sleeper’s promise Ps. 127:2

  17. “I am Dreaming” How do you understand and interpret dreams? It’s your dream, that alone qualifies you to interpret it Relate the dream to a current situation, if possible Evaluate the signs or symbols in the dream correctly Recognize a principle (message) in the dream Do not strain for the interpretation Keep the interpretation honest. Face yourself When you wake up analyze your feelings / mood Do not try to force a dream to come to reality

  18. “I am Dreaming” How do you understand and interpret dreams? Ask relevant questions: What is your impression of what is going on? What does the people, animal, place, or thing in your dream represent to you? What was happening in the dream that is happening in your own life? What could your spirit be trying to tell you about solving a problem you have in a current situation? What is the overall message in the dream? Does the message represent the present, fear, the future, or the past? The interpretation of your dream should confirm something in your spirit.

  19. “I am Dreaming” Preparing to hear from God through dreams Renew your thinking about the value of dreams Do not ignore remembered dreams Desire to know your real self Recognize that one of the ways God communicates with man is through dreams Desire to hear from God Expect the hear from God….prepare by having paper and pen next to your bed

  20. “I am Dreaming” Biblical Dreamers Abraham – Gen 15:12 Jacob – Gen 28, 31 Joseph – Gen 37 Balaam – Numbers 22-25 Gideon – Judges 7:13-15 David – Ps 17:3 Daniel & King Neb – Dan 4, 7 Solomon – 1Kings 3:3-15 Pilate – Matthew 27:19
