Setting the context • Our mission & vision provide a context within which we will assess student learning • The mission and vision guide our institutional culture which affect the form and process of assessment • The learning goals, objectives and outcomes we develop should be consistent with the Penn State Altoona mission and vision in order to best serve our faculty, students and all other stakeholders

Highlights of PSU Altoona Plan for Assessment • College-wide Assessment • Begin discussion with stakeholders on goals for students graduating from Penn State Altoona • Form Altoona Assessment Committee • Cultivate relationships with other locations interested in similar issues • Program Assessment • Developing Program goals and objectives • Map goals and objectives to courses in the programs • Work on accreditation issues in relevant programs • Course Assessment • Workshops for faculty on classroom assessment • Send faculty to workshops and invite prestigious speakers to Penn State Altoona
