Phase I and Phase II Wireless Enhanced 911 (WE911) Defined Phase I – PSAP receives call back number physical address of tower transmitting the call tower sector Phase II – PSAP receives call back number latitude and longitude of the caller (With a probability factor) automatic plotting of caller location on an electronic map Phase I and II requests are now done simultaneously
Overall Program Goal June 30, 2008 • Equip PSAPs to provide Phase I and Phase II Wireless Enhanced 911 (WE911) service for 90% of New Mexico’s population • Resolve NM PSAP readiness issues • Facility Readiness • E911 database management issues • Consolidation
December 2009 Program Achievements • 16 additional PSAPs equipped since June 07 • Socorro in the installation process • 17 more PSAPs Implemented Phase I Wireless • 17 more PSAPs Implemented Phase II Wireless • Project Goal of 90% exceeded in June 2008 – 95.1% • Completed: 95.3% of NM population (up from 80% in June 07) • Anticipated Status by June 30, 2010 is 96.6%
