  1. Knock Knock! Who’s There? eSIS eSIS Who? eSIS the place for Training?

  2. AdvancedCross-Enrollment eMOOSE Situations

  3. Situation 1: Student Open-Enrolled (Both Schools Exist Within eSIS) • A student is being open-enrolled from district A (Resident District) to district B (Educating District), where both districts exist within eSIS. • A student is educated by Lake, which this student is not a resident of. The Resident District is Maumee; therefore the student is cross-enrolled from Lake to Maumee Electronic Building.

  4. Situation 2: Student Open-Enrolled (Only One School Exists Within eSIS) • A student is being open-enrolled from district A (Resident District) to district B (Educating District), and the resident district does not use eSIS. • You will NOT create a cross-enrollment record; the only change will occur on the EMIS Details screen. • A student is educated by Lake, which the student is not a resident of. The Resident District is Toledo Public Schools, a non-eSIS district; therefore a cross-enrollment record does NOT exist between TPS and Lake. The student is enrolled at the Educating District, Lake.

  5. Situation 3: Student Cross-Enrolled to JVS from Resident District • A student is cross-enrolled from district A (Resident District) to district B (Educating District), and the Educating District is a JVS. • A student is attending Four County Career Center as the Educating District, and Ayersville is the Resident District. Since both districts are users of eSIS, a cross-enrollment record will exist from Ayersville to Four County Career Center. • Note: The Percent of Time would change based on the amount of time the student is educated in each entity.

  6. Situation 4: Foster/Court Placed Student Attending a non-eSIS School • A student is being Foster/Court placed from district A (Resident District) to district B (Educating District), and in this example the Foster/Court placed school does NOT use eSIS. • A student is attending Lake as the Resident District, and Foster or Court placed in Toledo Public School District. The Educating District is TPS, in this case a non-eSIS district, therefore a cross-enrollment record does NOT exist between Lake and TPS. • Note: The ‘Att/Home IRN Ind’ value is dependent on the student being Court Placed (P) or Foster Placed (C).

  7. Situation 5: Foster/Court Placed Student Attending an eSIS School • A student is being Foster/Court placed from district A (Resident District) to district B (Educating District), and the Foster/Court placed school does use eSIS. • A student who is attending Lake as the Resident District, and Foster or Court placed to Maumee High School. The Educating District is Maumee High School, in this case a user of eSIS, therefore a cross-enrollment record is created between Maumee and Lake. • Please note the ‘Student Status’ and ‘Att/Home IRN Ind’ values are dependent on the student being Court Placed (P) or Foster Placed (C).

  8. Situation 6: Student Open-Enrolled to Educating District and Cross-Enrolled to JVS from Resident District • A student is being open-enrolled from district A (Resident District) to district B (Educating District), and cross-enrolled to a JVS from district B (Educating District). • A student is being educated by Four County Career Center, but is also open-enrolled from Ayersville to Tinora. Since all three districts are users of eSIS, a cross-enrollment record will exist from Tinora to Ayersville and from Ayersville to Four County Career Center.

  9. Situation 7: Preschool Student Attending a non-eSIS ESC • A student is being open-enrolled from district A (Resident District) to district B (Educating District), and the Educating District is an Educational Service Center that does NOT use eSIS. • A student is attending Lucas County ESC as the Educating District, and Maumee as the Resident District. The Educating District is Lucas County ESC, in this case a non-eSIS using district, therefore a cross-enrollment record does NOT exist between Maumee and Lucas County ESC.

  10. Situation 8: Preschool Student Attending an eSIS ESC • A student is being open-enrolled from district A (Resident District) to district B (Educating District), and the Educating District is an Educational Service Center that uses eSIS. • A student is attending Williams County ESC as the Educating District, and Edon as the Resident District. The educating district is Williams County ESC, in this case a user of eSIS, therefore a cross-enrollment record is created between the Williams County ESC and Edon.

  11. Situation 9: Resident Student Attending a Community School • Beginning in FY07 all Community School Students will be withdrawn as is the case with students moving from the Resident District to another Public District. A cross-enrollment record will NO LONGER be required from the Resident District to the Community School as there is no longer a reporting requirement for the Resident Districts in this situation.

  12. Situation 10: Student Cross-Enrolled to JVS (non-eSIS) from Resident District (eSIS user) • A student is cross-enrolled from district A (Resident District) to district B (Educating District), and the Educating District is a JVS not using eSIS. • A student is attending Vantage Career Center as the Educating District, and Maumee is the Resident District. Since only the Resident District is an eSIS user, there will not be a cross-enrollment record for the JVS. • Note: The Percent of Time would change based on the amount of time the student is educated in each entity.

  13. Situation 11: Student Open-Enrolled to Educating District (eSIS user) and Cross-Enrolled to JVS (non- eSIS) from Resident District (eSIS user) • A student is being open-enrolled from district A (Resident District) to district B (Educating District), and cross-enrolled to a JVS from district B (Educating District). • A student is being educated by Vantage Career Center, but is also open-enrolled from Maumee to Lake. Since only two of the three districts are users of eSIS, a cross-enrollment record will exist from only Lake to Maumee.

  14. Exercise 1 Student Resides in District A (an eSIS District) Student is educated 100% of time at District B (an eSIS District). Refer to Situation 1.
