  1. About Ms. Reyes • I am from Baytown, Texas. • I attended Lee College for 2 years and received an Associates of Arts degree in Education. • Immediately thereafter, I attended 2 more years of college at the University of Houston- Clear Lake where I received my Bachelors Degree in Education. • I am engaged to be married this June and have a wonderful dog, Janci Jo. (4 legged daughter ) • This is my 3rd year teaching 4th grade and I started my first year at Humble Elementary. • My teaching philosophy is to first, and foremost, build a positive relationship with my students. All students can learn- it’s my job to figure out the best way they know how and to apply it.

No one is allowed on campus without being scanned through our V-Soft Software. • Please have your ID with you every time you come on campus, even if you have been previously scanned.

  4. Emergency Card/Medication Policy Emergency Cards – It is important to complete these cards for our nurse and keep them updated. Notify the front office of any changes, especially in phone numbers or email addresses. Medication: • All medication, including cough drops, MUST be administered by the school nurse. • Parents cannot send medicine with students. Parents must drop all medications off in person to the nurse.

  5. Attendance/Tardies/Forgotten Items/Lost Items Attendance: Each day builds on the day before. It is so important for your child to be here each day, unless of course they are sick and running a fever. Please contact our Mrs. Garrett, ASE’s amazing attendance clerk, at 281-641-3603 to report absences and reasons for absences. Tardies: When a student comes in late, he/she tends to feel overwhelmed and behind. Last year, ASE started an incentive events to help cut down on the tardies. The program was a huge success. We will continue with the program this year, having 4 “No-Tardy” events throughout the year. Students must not have a tardy during the nine week period to participate. However, one tardy can be forgiven, but must be purchased using seven I-Matter tickets they have earned. Forgotten Items: Our goal is to have students be responsible and have all necessary items needed for the day with them when they arrive. However, in the rare case that an item is forgotten, drop it off in the front office, and the front office will deliver it to the student. NOTE: The office personnel will only be able to accommodate as their duties permit. Lost Items: Please remember to label ALL items. A lost and found area is located near the gym in Main Street.

If a teacher chooses to retest and individual to determine mastery, the higher of the two grades shall be used to calculate the average; however, no grade higher than a 70 shall be recorded in the grade book for that assignment.
