  2. Team Profile • Lion dance has been a Chinese tradition for almost a thousand years. • Lion dance troupes can be seen in national celebration events or local fairs.

  3. Team Profile • There are performances of lion dance worldwide as long as there are Chinese descendants. • It is not only a unique artistry in the world, but also the most characteristic feature in Chinese folk art .

  4. Team Profile • Lion dance has become one of the symbols for Chinese culture. • Based on people’s belief, it is also a performance that is welcomed to the residential areas for celebrating events.

  5. Team Profile • Lion dance is a form of Chinese folk art as well as a kind of folk dance, and it has become a sport-oriented activity, too. • It promotes emotional interaction between people and meets the purpose of fitness at the same time.

  6. Team Profile • Students who participate in lion dancing get to learn and appreciate more about Chinese culture, thus to identify with the profound artistry of fine tradition. • It is suitable for teenagers and children to learn.

  7. Team Objective--Fitness • Kung fu is the foundation of lion dance. • Through each practice, the activity cultivates a positive, teamwork spirit and helps build a strong physique.

  8. Team Objective--Happiness • Lion dance moves are entertaining ,lively, and full of changes. • The objective emphasizes on “interest-oriented learning" and inspires students to take interest in lion dance sport.

Team Objective--Excellence • The process of teaching and performing offers an opportunity for lion dance troupes to observe and learn from each other for further improvement. • It provides a stage for students in and outside the school which helps them broaden their horizons and self-confidence.

  10. Team Objective--Teamwork • It is the unspoken consensus between the lion dancers who control the head and tail, and the drummer, gongs, and cymbals players that accomplishes the performance, and that contributes to a positive learning attitude and teamwork spirit.

  11. Team Objective--Teamwork • Through participating together, the troupes promote interactions among parents, teachers and students, and win over the recognition in the community.

  12. Team Objective—Diversity • Lion dancing combines the understanding of Chinese culture and profound folk artistry of fine traditional as well as integrates community resources together. • It is a way to promote multiple art education, hence foster a sound and well-developed personality.
