Structural Adaptations • One structural adaptation is their sense of smell. This is an important adaptation because it helps them track down their prey and be alert for their predators . • A second structural adaptation is their sharp and hundreds of teeth. This is an important adaptation because the outer row of teeth. It is a self defense method. • A third structural adaptation is that they have cartilage not bone. This is a important adaptation because it can help it move around in small places. • A forth adaptation is it’s fins. This is a important adaptation because the fins can help them swim away from predators and get to prey faster. • A fifth structural adaptation is it’s super senses. This is important because they can be able to sense when something is near.
Behavioral Adaptation • One behavioral adaptation of a shark is to go after hurt fish instead of hunting. This is important because feeding on animals that are hurt is easier because the shark’s prey will not be able to escape. The shark takes one bite then leaves for a minute until it comes in for the kill. • The second behavioral adaptation is when sharks stop swimming so they never sleep. This is an important adaptation because when sharks stop swimming they will die. The oxygen will stop flowing in their gills. Moving keeps water flowing through their gills so he will continue getting oxygen. • A third behavioral adaptation is a sharks eye sight and sense of smell. This is an important adaptation because these help them survive. Their sharp sense of smell and sight helps them find food and keep from being attacked. • The fourth behavioral adaptation is that they go after things that look like seals. This is important because if the sharks eat the seals that will give the shark energy.
Habitat • The shark lives in the cape cod bay • It lives in oceans all over the world • Sharks habitats are places that have lots of food • There is no certain place that they live
Diet • The shark is a carnivore and typically eats fish or seals • It also eats smaller sharks that are in its way • When the shark is hungry it sneaks up on it’s prey and then goes in for the kill • The shark can go for a couple of days without eating food
