Prevention Approaches to Consider • Cultural norms need to be addressed • Address harsh discipline • Early spanking associated with maternal depression • Use of objects on buttocks highly associated with kicking and beating up • Address early child-bearing & foster more education of youth • Social networks and connection of parents
