DCP Migration from TAC to TDCF • Traditional Alphanumeric Code (TAC) : SYNOP • Table Driven Code Forms (TDCF): CREX, BUFR • On-going migration from TAC to TDCF according to agreed planhttp://www.wmo.int/pages/prog/www/WMOCodes/MigrationInfoDocum.html#Information • In the case of DCPs in remote areas (e.g. buoys)upgrading the DCP for TDCF can be unpractical (very expensive or unfeasible) • An alternative is to perform TAC-TDCF conversionof DCP messages before their injection into GTS • Question: where, by whom should this be done ?
