  1. Is a short summary/ abstract of your intended work/ dissertation. It forms an outline of your intended work/ dissertation. A brief presentation which describes the purpose of research and method of conducting research. WHAT IS SYNOPSIS?

  2. TIPS FOR SYNOPSIS WRITING • Should be precise and clear. • Relevant terms should be used. • Do not commit unnecessary and unattainable goals. • Provide original work.

  3. Should have clear objectives. Plan the study in such a way that the entire study is completed during the training period. TIPS FOR SYNOPSIS WRITING

  4. TIPS FOR SYNOPSIS WRITING • The font type should be “Times Roman” and the font size of content should be “12”. • Single sided printing is recommended. • Spacing between two lines should be One and half spaced.

  5. Except the title page, every page, must be numbered Minimum margins of one and half inch on the left side and one inch on the right side & One inch on the top and bottom of the page must be used throughout the synopsis. TIPS FOR SYNOPSIS WRITING

  6. Should contain Title, Name of the candidate, Academic Year Name of guide, Subject / department Degree for which Dissertation is submitted Affiliating Body COVER PAGE COVER PAGE

  7. INTRODUCTION REVIEW OF LITERATURE AIMS & OBJECTIVES MATERIAL & METHODS FORMAT OF SYNOPSIS

  8. OBSERVATION, DISCUSSION & SUMMARY LIST OF REFERENCES/ BIBLIOGRAPHY CERTIFICATION BY GUIDE & STUDENT FORMAT OF SYNOPSIS

  9. Brief introduction of the topic Need For Study. Problems that the study shall solve. New contributions that can be added from the study. Benefit to the population from the study. Why are you interested in working on this topic? INTRODUCTION

  10. Brief literature available on the topic. Describe the research done by W.H.O. on your topic. Give the statistical review of the above work. REVIEW OF LITERATURE

  11. Goal / purpose for this study. Intend to achieve in this study. Should be simple and realistic. Should be in accordance with the title of the study. Should be clear, simple, precise, achievable, relevant, time bound & limited. AIMS & OBJECTIVES

  12. Sources of Data. Methods of collection of Data. Duration of Study. Sample Size. Inclusion /Exclusion Criteria. If the study requires any investigations to be conducted then describe them briefly. MATERIAL & METHODS

  13. Shall be discussed in details in the dissertation OBSERVATION, DISCUSSION & SUMMARY

  14. Includes the details regarding the Books; Thesis  & Journals or Periodicals referred by the student in writing the synopsis. • Harward Style is recommended. Should be arranged alphabetically, beginning with the surname. LIST OF REFERENCES

  15. Name of the author; Title of the work ( Name of the Book, Journal in full); Edition/ Volume/issue No; Place of publication; Publisher; Year of publication; Reference page. LIST OF REFERENCES

  16. Certification by the Guide & Student. Allotment of Guide. Acceptance of Guide. Allotment of Topics by the Guide. CERTIFICATES
