Origin • The Valley was called as the Nagarkot in the ancient times, as it was the ancient capital of the powerful hill state fort of Nagarkot. • Kangra town was the powerful seat of the Raja Sansar Chand II • The town was attacked by the Mohammad Ghaznavi and was conquered by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. • It is the site of the oldest recorded war in the human history. • It is dotted with most idolized temples of India.

Climate • Kangra's climate is classified as warm and temperate. • During Summer Season i.e. March to June,temperature in kangra varies between 22 degree Celsius to 38 degree Celsius. • For Trekking Summer Season is the best time to visit.During Monsoon Season Three months under comes July, August and September. • Kangra Valley gets garlended with lush and fresh greenery in the monsoon,it does get messed up because of the heavy rainfall. • Winter Season start from December till February.Sometimes, temperature descends to 4 degree celsius.
