  1. Welcome! Basic Christian Living We are glad that you have come to worship with us. Romans 12 Duties Toward God and Society

  2. Living Sacrifices to God (Verses 1 & 2)

  3. Romans 12 (NKJV) Because of… Living Sacrifices to God (Verses 1 & 2) 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. All have sinned (3:23) The Just Live by Faith – Romans 1:16,17 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (5:8) For the wages of sin is death (6:23) (We have no reason to boast, so much has been given by the mercies of God)

  4. Do Not Be Conformed To This World But Be Transformed By The Renewing Of Your Mind Desire to serve because of faith Pressure from peers to be accepted. The Kingdom Of God

  7. We Must Be Transformed • Our logic must be different • Our views must be different • Our companions must be different • Our speech must be different • Our actions must be different

  8. Serve God with Spiritual Gifts (Verses 3-8)

  9. Romans 12 (NKJV) Serve God with Spiritual Gifts (Verses 3-8) 3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.

  10. Romans 12 (NKJV) Serve God with Spiritual Gifts (Verses 3-8) 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

  11. Serving God With Spiritual Gifts Accept Basic Guidelines • There is work for everyone • Use your abilities • Instead of having pride over what one can do in comparison to another: • Be thankful for the abilities that you have. • Give your best effort

  14. Romans 12 (NKJV) Behave Like a Christian (Verses 9-21) 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. When one returns evil for evil, it usually makes matters worse
