Abstract: Companies such as Teradata, Oracle, and IBM have traditionally cornered the data warehouse market. Now, appliances have changed the rules of the data warehousing game. Companies such as Netezza, DATAllegro, Greenplum, Datupia, and HP’s Neoview have emerged with surprising success. This presentation is designed to discuss the fundamentals of traditional data warehousing, but will also focus on how appliances have changed the rules. You will leave with a stronger understanding of data warehousing and have the incredible opportunity to learn about the latest advances! . Tom Coffing is an expert at explaining all aspects of data warehousing. He has written over 20 books on all aspects of data warehousing, taught classes all over the world, built videos, and created products that work with all vendors. Tom has earned a great reputation at explaining data warehousing to business users as well as the IT technical staff. Tom is often referred to as Tera-Tom because of his extensive knowledge of Teradata systems, but Tom has experience with Netezza, DATAllegro, Greenplum, Neoview, and Dataupia as well.
