  1. 4th Annual MoyamoyaDisease (“MMD”) Yard Sale and More Fundraiser ~ Yard Sale ~ ~ Car Wash ~ ~ Dunk Tank ~ ~ Free Throw Contests ~ ~ Face Painting ~ ~ Chair Massage ~ ~ Cotton Candy ~ ~ Pizza Slices ~ ~ Bake Sale ~ ~ Raffles ~ MMD t-shirts, water bottles and car fresheners Saturday, June 4th, 2011 (Rain or Shine) 9:00am – 3:00pm 3 Muskett Lane, Walpole, MA Justin Doo, an 11 year old Walpole resident, was diagnosed with MMD in March 2007 when he was 7 years old. MMD is a progressive narrowing of the arteries to the brain. It restricts blood flow to the brain, often times resulting in TIAs/mini-strokes (transient ischemic attacks) or even worse, a stroke. This disease affects only one in 2,000,000 people. The only option is surgery. Justin bravely endured eight hours of brain surgery in April 2007. Justin will always have Moyamoya. Many questions remain unanswered with MMD. Is it genetic or environmental? Why does it cause intense migraine-like headaches? Why do symptoms vary from child to child? Continued research related to this disease is vitally important to promote better treatment and earlier diagnosis. ** ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS EVENT GO DIRECTLY TO MMD RESEARCH **
