Congratulations on joining Bath GPVTS! We offer a very competitive program with great results in a fantastic location. Our amazing team includes Jim Bartlett (Associate Postgraduate Dean) and TPDs Chris Bevan, Freya Evans, Karen Prees, and Adrian Curtis. Our admin team consists of Paula Cain (GP Programme Manager) and Maria Phantis (GP Administrator). We also have trainee roles available with Sarah Pratt (ST3 Education Scholar), Alice Beech (ST3 Leadership Scholar), and Brigid Tunney (ST4 LEET).   9. The Scheme • 3 years • ST1 2 x 6 month posts in hospital • ST2 6 months hospital and 6 months GP • ST3 GP • GP Teaching Wednesday morning • Topic teaching Wednesday afternoon • Practice visits • Departmental teaching • E-Portfolio • ARCP annually

GP Teaching ST1/2 • Mixed ST1 and ST2 sessions • Rotating TPD facilitator • Scheduled twice a month on a Wednesday morning • Each topic delivered twice in 12months, need to sign up for the session • Session split in two sections; • Topic-based presentation by ST2s • Feedback and cakes • Small group work ST1 and ST2

Administration of following: • General information about training and teaching programme • Hospital and GP Practice posts • Teaching timetables • QA of attendance – must inform office of any absence. More than 2 weeks per academic year will require an extension at the end of training. • Study leave approvals and payments • Any change of circumstance • Any questions or queries…..

Changes to original rotation:If there is a change in personal circumstance i.e. extended leave, reduction of hours, step on step off option, OOP etc, your original posts cannot be guaranteed for the remainder of your training.We will aspire to offer the same as your original post from recruitment score but if this is not possible, you will be allocated to whichever post is vacant at that particular time.There is no option to request or select a particular specialty post/GP Practice.

ChangeForms A ’change’ form must be completed and returned to the GP office if there is any change in circumstance including the following: • Contact details • Change to contract hours such as LTFT/WTE • Change of Post/Practice placement • Periods of sickness/absence (any duration) • Maternity/Paternity leave • Jury service , Industrial action etc. It is your responsibility to inform the MDU of any changes. If you have opted out of MDU please ensure you have adequate cover!

  20. Teaching attendance • You are required to reach a minimum 70% attendance. • Signed register is proof of attendance. Study leave • 60 sessions/30 days. • Organised teaching will take up approx. 30 sessions: 10 time-tabled teaching sessions, 10 Topic Teaching and 10 ST3 Practice visits. • 30 sessions for external courses and teaching. • Study leave for external courses is applied for via the Intrepid system…..for now! • Study leave guidance can be found on the Bath GP website. • It is KEY to be proactive. YOU need to plan ahead and book time off early in the department!
