  1. 22nd MEU Deployment 111027-M-BC209-117 CORSICA, FRANCE (October 27, 2011)– Marines with engineer platoon, Combat Logistics Battalion 22, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, talk after wading through water to load onto a landing craft, utility, and return to amphibious landing dock USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19), on a beach in Corsica, France, Oct. 27, 2011. Marines with the Combat Logistics Battalion 22 and Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, returned to the Mesa Verde after a bilateral exercise in Corsica, France. The Marines and sailors of the 22nd MEU are currently deployed with Amphibious Squadron 6 (PHIBRON 6) aboard the USS Bataan Amphibious Ready Group (BATARG) and will continue to train and improve the MEU’s ability to operate as a cohesive and effective Marine Air Ground Task Force.
