Barriers • Communication • Travel expenses, travel time • Organization • Language, culture • Visa • Infrastructure
Infrastructure • Internet not equally developed everywhere • No online conferencing • Very expensive / sometimes inaccessible • But still better than ordinary mail and phone calls • Essential for success of international meetings (eg. SBC 2004) • Recommendations: • Support from IEEE • Help from sister branches • Support from industry
Conclusion • Student Portal must be developed! • Encouraging multi-national projects • Promotion of cooperation • Branches write reports on their activities
