  2. Komodo National Park was made a world heritage site in 1992.

  3. Location: • Komodo National Park is located in Southeast Asia, specifically Indonesia between the islands of Sumbawa and Flores. • The territory owned by the National Park consists of a number of islands. The main islands are Rinca, Padar, and Komodo (Komodo being the largest). • Roughly, the coordinates of this area is 8 degrees south and 119 degrees east.

  4. The Komodo National Park is in this area.

  5. So Why This Place? • Well, the significance of Komodo National Park can be found in its name. This place is the home of over 5,700 lizards (mainly being the komodo dragon). This territory conserves not only the komodo dragon, but also other rare animals such as the orange-scrub scrub fowl, endemic rat, and the timor deer.

  6. Interesting Features Komodo National Park is said to have great scenery all around and it is also known to be a popular place to scuba dive. The waters surrounding are filled with many sea creatures and beautiful coral reefs.
