“Community, Collaboration and The Pilots of the First Women’s National Air Derby: A Model For Today” Presented by: Heather Taylor Archetypal Images, LLC Producer, Filmmaker and Historian Using clips from her award-winning documentary “Breaking Through The Clouds: The First Women's National Air Derby”, executive producer Heather Taylor will present a glimpse into the distinct personalities of the women in the 1929 air race including Amelia Earhart, Pancho Barnes, Phoebe Omlie and Ruth Elder. Taylor will show how the passion these twenty women had to race across the country mobilized entire communities to support their vision and how the women’s collaborative spirit enhanced their individual goals to win as well as the collective goal to prove women could fly.
