  4. Updates for 2013-2014 • 2nd year Science Fusion workbooks • Research project – 2nd MP • Focus on 21st Century skills • Integration of Common Core • More pre-assessment

  5. Grading • Homework - ~25% • Tests/Quizzes - ~25% • Labs/Activities - ~25% • Projects - ~25%

  6. Homework Assigned 3-4 nights – 15-20 minutes 5-10 points HW written in the agenda book Homework and handouts on website Late – half-credit (usually 3/5)

  7. Labs/Classwork • Labs count 20 –50 points • Microscopes – prepared, wet mount slides • WowBugs, Blackworms, Cabbage White, Wisconsin Fast Plants • Activities – Clyde and Claire genetics • Cooperative learning - Cells • Nature Journal • Skills based – reading, teamwork, procedure writing, controls, interpreting directions

  8. Extra Help • Extra Help is after school at 2:40 – 3:05 (and later). • Extra Help is offered every day EXCEPT Wed. • Morning each day by appointment • Students should let me know that they are planning on coming to extra help!
