  3. Examine your Achievements • Which subjects have you consistently done well in? • Is solving complex math problems easy for you? • What classes have you received awards in? • These achievements strongly suggest what you are good at. • Next you will learn how to look at what you like to do.

  4. Your likes . . . • You can easily transfer your likes to a particular career option. For example, if you like taking photographs, maybe you can consider a career in graphic arts. • Or if you enjoy working with and help people, maybe a counseling career is a great start for you. • Now move to the next slide to proceed to step 2.

  5. What do you like? • Make a list of 5-8 things you like to do. • Here a few items to get you started: • Computers • Helping others • Fixing things • Working alone • Traveling • Learning new things • Once you have your list ready, proceed to the next slide

  6. Ask an adult • Your parents, teachers and other trusted adults can be a great source to determine what you’re good at.

  7. Know what you like • Take a few minutes to determine what you like to do. • Is it working with others • Being outside • Fixing computers • Solving complex math problems • Listening to music • Working with animals
