Life (1888 – 1965) • Eliot was born in St. Louis in Missouri. • Both of his parents were cultured people; he grew up in a wealthy family and received good education. • He graduated from Harvard and received M. A. degree. • He came to Europe for research and stayed in England because of WWI. • He first worked as a bank clerk and then an editor. • In 1927, he became an English citizen. • He won Nobel Prize in 1948. exit continue
