General objective • To study the trend of fast food consumption (Mc Donald, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut) among 3rd year Biomedical Sciences students in UKM KL for the session 2008/2009 in February 2009.
Specific Objectives • To determine the association of fast food consumption among Biomedical students with race, gender and accommodation in the first 3 months of 2009. • To determine the association of fast food consumption among Biomedical students with race, gender and accommodation in February 2009.

Research Design Cross sectional study Target Population All undergraduates of Biomedical Sciences of UKM KKL session 2008/2009 for the month of February 2009
Study Population 3rd year undergraduates of Biomedical Sciences of UKM KKL session 2008/2009 Sampling Method Universal Sampling
Sample Size ALL 103 students of 3rd year undergraduates of Biomedical Sciences of UKM KKL session 2008/2009 Questionnaire Questionnaire was distributed to respondents and data was analyzed by using SPSS.
Specific Objective 1: To determine the association of fast food consumption among Biomedical students with race, gender and accommodation in the first 3 months of 2009.
In terms of races: • Research question Is there any association between fast food consumption in the first 3 months of 2009 and race. • Research hypothesis HA : Fast food consumption in the first 3 months is not independent of the race.
COMPARISION FREQUENCY OF CONSUMPTION OF FAST FOOD IN THE PAST THREE MONTHS BETWEEN RACES Fisher’s Exact Test: p=0.312, p>0.05
There’s no significant difference between the frequency of fast food consumption among races in the past 3 months • The consumption of fast food in the first 3 months of 2009 is independent of the race. Hence, null hypothesis is not rejected.
In terms of gender: • Research question Is there any association between fast food consumption in the first 3 months of 2009 and gender. • Research hypothesis HA : The consumption of fast food in the past 3 months is not independent of gender.
COMPARISION FREQUENCY OF CONSUMPTION OF FAST FOOD IN THE PAST THREE MONTHS BETWEEN GENDER Fisher’s Exact Test: p=0.201, p>0.05
The consumption of fast food in the first 3 months of 2009 is independent of the gender. Thus, null hypothesis is not rejected.
In terms of accommodation: • Research question Is there any association between fast food consumption in the first 3 months of 2009 and accommodation (KTSN1 and others). • Research hypothesis HA : Fast food consumption in the first 3 months is not independent of the accommodation.
