Team # 15: Acoustic Storm Packaging Considerations Presented by: Andrew Batek Interweaving the impressive visual power of electricity and the visceral emotion of music, Acoustic Storm takes analog or digital audio input and outputs its own rendition using two varieties of solid state tesla coils.
Selected Packaging Constraints • Safety • Electrical Isolation (faraday cage) • Physical Isolation (Plexiglass) • Somewhat portable • Small size relative to other “Tesla” projects • Similar in this regard to conventional speakers • Allows for device accessibility • Encloses device but not sound
Comparison to Current Commercial Products:- A difficult task for this project - Conventional Speakers Available Class E HFSSTC Kit Obviously, differences exist in encased design Will borrow general characteristics Speaker “grille” • Minimal product packaging • Uncovered Circuit • No isolation from coil output • Safety?
