Why did Greeks originally form City- States? • The ancient Greeks originally formed City-States so that their people would have protection and stability from invasion and economical purposes. • The geography also promoted the creation of City-States in that the mountains and the Islands provided a natural segregation of people. • People of different regions and locations did not have as much contact with one another because of those geographical obstacles

  9. 8. When did people most often enter the city walls? • Most people would only enter the city walls, in ancient Greece, when there was an immediate threat to the people surrounding the fortress.

  14. Monarchy • This governments function is that Monarchy is a form of a government in which the ruling power is in the hands of a single person.

  15. Tyranny • Tyranny was cruel and abusive. It was rule by an individual that seized control.

  16. Oligarchy • The governmet functions in sections. This government has many rulers, not only one.

  17. Democracy • This government functions by the people. The male were the only people that could attend the citizens assembly. They were also the only people that could vote.
