Creed • Recognize and reconcile needs • Promote balance between natural and man-made • Preserve present and future values
Definition Ethics: • Discipline: good and bad & moral duty and obligation • A set of moral principles or values • A theory or system of moral values • The principles of conduct governing an individual or a group
Definition Ethical: • Of or relating to ethics • Conforming to accepted especially professional standards of conduct Synonym: see Moral
Definition Moral: • Principles of right and wrong • Right behavior • One’s conscience • Right and wrong action
Ethics I will: • Be responsible for data validity • Encourage research, planning, design, management and review • Examine all potential conflicts of interest
Ethics I will not: • Condone misrepresentation of work • Engage in dishonest or discriminatory conduct • Accept contingent fees
Guidance for Practice I will: • Encourage early environmental planning • Recognize total environmental management • Incorporate best principles and practices
