SageCRM v6.2 Release Overview • SageCRM v6.2 delivers a comprehensive range of new capabilities and enhancements that are designed to enrich the SageCRM user and ownership experience significantly. • Users can now change the look and feel of their SageCRM installation through the use of the product’s new Branding Toolkit capabilities. • A more powerful and flexible Relationship Manager is now available which allows users to set up many-to-many relationships between primary entities. • The enhanced e-mail editor and multilingual spell checker makes it even easier to produce professional mass emails from within SageCRM. • A range of improvements have been made across the product in areas such as address maintenance, component manager, offline synchronization, Outlook integration and the .NET API.
Branding Toolkit / Themes • The SageCRM v6.2 branding toolkit provides • companies with the ability to change the look and • feel of their installation. • Pre-configured themes are supplied out-of-the-box and can be customized by system administrators. • Entirely new themes can be created from scratch using corporate colors and logos. • System administrators can create a branding theme based on their corporate colors and specify which theme is provided to users by default. • End-users can choose which theme they want to display on their interface using the pre-configured themes supplied or a new theme developed by the system administrator.
Related Entities • SageCRM v6.2 allows customers to create • multiple relationships between primary entities • (e.g. between a holding company and its subsidiary • or between a supplier and its customer). • Users can structure and graphically represent complex relationships that exist between entities in their SageCRM installation. • Helps sales executives to identify cross-selling opportunities that exist within their customer base. • Generate reports, segment and create lists to support cross-selling programs. • All relationships are graphically defined in the relationship tab. • For example, Eurolandia is a parent company of Gatecom and Arnold Ball is a director. • A & W Services is also linked to Gatecom as a supplier and is therefore linked as a sibling. • There is a customer service case logged against Gatecom which is displayed as a sibling relationship graph. • Airteight Solutions and American Gage who are owned by Gatecom
E-mail Editor & Spell Check • SageCRM v6.2 enables users to take full advantage • of e-mail marketing for highly effective • communication with customers and prospects. • Develop effective, professional email communications for their clients in multiple languages. • Preview e-mails before they are sent to ensure that formatting appears correctly. • Check the spelling of e-mails, in multiple languages where required, before they are sent, ensuring professional tone of communications at all times. Address Linking • SageCRM v6.2 introduces powerful new • capabilities for address maintenance, • making it easy to manage address details • and updates for both new and existing • contacts. • Provides easy-to-read overview of links between companies, people, and addresses from the Address Linking screen. • Allows users to manage addresses for companies and people – e.g. specify which addresses are relevant to which records. • Reduces potential duplicate address entries and minimizes the amount of manual administration required for address maintenance. • Default address details can be automatically added when a new person is added to an entity. Address tab list all addresses linked to a particular entity
Mobile Enhancements • SageCRM v6.2 introduces a wide range of enhancements • to its mobile user experience which improve ease-of-use • and performance across a number of areas. • Enhanced performance for mobile users makes it even easier for them to use SageCRM and connect with their customers while on the road. • Enhanced date and time fields, mandatory fields and error messages. • Ability to customize the mobile interface using the new themes in the Branding Toolkit or a newly developed theme so that it closely matches the SageCRM desktop version.
Solo Enhancements • SageCRM v6.2 enables system administrators • to set up profiles for Solo users that further • Optimizes synchronization and performance • during the offline experience. • Solo profiles limit the volume of non-essential information that users can download before they go offline. • Users have the ability to view their offline profiles but must contact their system administrator if they require any changes to be made. • Synchronization and performance are optimized during the offline experience as only relevant data for the user is downloaded. System administrators can fully define offline profiles for particular categories of users
Outlook Integration Enhancements • SageCRM v6.2 introduces a range of • enhancements to the Outlook integration • capabilities of the product. • Improved user experience for Outlook integration allowing users to use CRM and Outlook in conjunction with each other especially with recurring appointments. • System administrators can easily identify synchronization conflicts that have occurred. • Problems with recurring appointments resolved and enhanced conflict resolution Enhanced capabilities in Outlook integration user configuration
Component Manager • SageCRM v6.2 includes a range of • enhancements to Component Manager • which make it even easier to make changes • to the database, install components and • overwrite changes previously made. • Description fields have been added to make it easier to identify the difference between components with similar names and to keep track of what has been recorded. • New component manager recording banner. • Ability to overwrite changes to a previous component and to preview components during the install process. • Check that component manager has run successfully. It is possible to preview and export the script before the component is installed. System administrators can now also check that a component has been installed successfully by looking at the log file for any errors.
.NET API Enhancements • The .NET API which was made available for use with SageCRM v6.1 has been updated for v6.2. This broaden the range of tools available to certified development partners and Sage product development teams who wish to develop integrations to SageCRM or custom enhancements for the product. Enhancements to the development capabilities associated with the NET API will continue in addition to on-going improvement of the ASP COM API. • Benefits of developing for the SageCRM .NET API • • Greater coding flexibility; developers can code in a selection of .NET languages e.g. C#, VB.NET. • • In-line debugging now possible. • • Exposes deeper and richer functionality than COM API. • • Sophisticated design environment available. • • By using SageCRM meta data, application extensions constructed using the SageCRM .NET API will look, feel and perform exactly like core.
Other Enhancements Report Design View SageCRM v6.2 provides users with a revised layout for designing a new report. While the functionality remains the same, the revised layout makes it easier to add columns to report content, search criteria etc.
Other Enhancements Recent List Length With SageCRM v6.2, system administrators can configure the size of their recent items list to view between 0 and 40 items at any one time.
Other Enhancements Monthly Calendar View Currently, users can set the day of the week on which their week starts, and any changes made are reflected in the weekly view. In SageCRM v6.2 this has been extended to the monthly calendar view so the user can now select the day of the week that they want their calendar month to start with.
