What is the Highest level of Exaltation? Celestial Marriage
Scripture Verse D&C 31:1-4 1. In the Celestial Glory there are three heavens or degrees; 2. And in order to obtain the highest, a man must enter into this order of the priesthood (meaning the new and everlasting covenant of marriage); 3. And if he does not, he cannot obtain it. 4. He may enter into the other, but that is the end of his kingdom; he cannot have an increase.
“In the premortal realm, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshipped God as their Eternal Father and accepted His plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize their divine destiny as heirs of eternal life. [Heavenly Father’s great] plan of happiness enables family relationships to be perpetuated beyond the grave. Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally.”Liahona, Oct 04, 49
Why is it important to have the highest level of exaltation in order to enter the Celestial Kingdom? • In order to obtain the highest, the husband and wife must be sealed for time and for all eternity in the temple • This church was created so that families can be formed, sealed, and exalted for eternally. • If we do not choose to be sealed to our spouse, we will never be able to reach to the highest degree in the celestial kingdom. • If we do not partake of this, we will not receive the blessings of temple marriage. • When we do this, we will be eligible for our heavenly Fathers highest reward; exaltation in the celestial kingdom, increase in that kingdom, and eternal life with our families.
