What’s Next? Cell Phone Room Keys!
Cell Phone Room Keys InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) announced in May that they would be testing a new MobileKey technology. In early September IHG had implemented the new technology into two of it’s properties. The testing would last for three months from September to December. By the end of the first month the feedback was largely positive. Chicago O’Hare Houston Downtown
How Does it Work? • Guests who choose to enroll will receive an text message on their phone with the room number and a number to call once you arrive at the hotel. • Upon arrival bypass the front desk, and go directly to your room. Where you can call the number and then hold the phone to the special lock. • The phone will produce a unique audio clip that will become obsolete after one use.
