SOS Children’s village Vocational training Center believes that, quality technical education has the potential to transform the Industries growth and success, SOS Children’s Village Vocational Training Provider SOS Vocational Training center is a community project and unit of SOS Children’s Village of Raipur and registered under Government of India Ministry of Labour & Employment, Regional Directorate of Apprenticeship Training (RDAT). The main objective of Vocational Training center is to provide quality and standard modular employable skill training to below poverty line unemployed youth and early school drops out student of Chhattisgarh state for their better employability. Modular Employable Skills (MES) under Skill Development Initiative Scheme (SDIS) • Directorate General of Employment and Training, Ministry of Labour & Employment has developed a new strategic framework for skill development for school dropouts and existing workers, especially in the un-organised sector in close consultation with industry, micro enterprises in the un-organised sector, State Governments, experts and academia which was essential considering their educational, social and economic background. • KEY FEATURES OF THE SCHEME • Demand driven short term training courses based on Modular Employable Skills • (MES) decided in consultation with Industry. MES is the ‘minimum skills set’ which is sufficient for gainful employment • Different levels of programmes (Foundation level as well as skill up-gradation) to meet demands of various target groups. • Testing of skills of trainees by independent assessing bodies, which would not be involved in training delivery, to ensure that it is done impartially. • The essence of the scheme is in certification that will be nationally recognised by both the government agencies and industry/trade organisations. Trainees Selection Process • First VTC invited the admission application from the candidates • Second We have firm the admission committee for completing the admission process. • Admission committee has selected those admission application; which was completely filled and submitted their entry level qualification mark sheet, for reservation relaxation cast certificate, Govt. issued BPL Card. • After short listing of the candidates we have conducted the admission counseling procedure; where we have given a small Presentation of SOS CV VTC and regarding the SDI Scheme. • Selection committee has taken a short interview of individual and given ration on prepared selection format. • Selection preference given on merit basis and their interest , relevant work experience and their family background. Socio- Economic & Educational Background of the selected candidates SOS CHILDREN'SVILLAGESINDIA A loving home for every child In both the trade most of the candidates belongs from the poor background families and OBS/SC/ST category. Particular in automobile sector's trainees are early school dropout and In ICT trade girls candidates have completed their higher secondary education. We have found very few candidate those who are working.
Case Study Ms Neela Bra and Ms Yogita sahu have taken admission in ICT sector and they are form near by village belongs to ST and OBC category both the candidate have completed their higher secondary education. Academically both are average. As per concern their family ; Ms. Neela is orphan child and Ms. Yogita from very poor family, their parents are labour and they are not able to pay for their further studies. At the time of selection procedure in counseling we have found that they are very interested for further studies and they want see themselves independent, After completion of training in VTC they will get good opportunities and they can starts earning. Similarly in Automobile sector Mr. Dilashwar Shau and Mr. Dhannu lal from rural area & early school dropout, BPL candidate, due to financial problem and lack of support they dropped their studies and his learning attitude and interest he got the opportunities for polishing his kills though VTC after completion of training and certification very easily he will get good placement.
