  1. Japanese Activities on DICOM Hidenori Shinoda JIRA September 7, 2006 Barcelona

  2. Recent Activities • Some materials for DICOM conference in Budapest were translated into Japanese and is now on the JIRA’s Web site. • JJ1017 version 3.0 document in English version is also on the same site. • IHE Vendor workshop for Japanese vendors was held on July 19 and 20. Now we are in the phase of registration for connectathon.

  3. Recent Activities –to be continued • A project for sharing clinical information of stroke patients among several healthcare institutions has started. • The region for the project is Nagoya and about 30 hospitals and clinics will join the project. • JIRA will join and work with JAHIS to develop a guideline to adopt DICOM standard for the project. CT, MR, X-ray, 3D images may be shared with several healthcare institutions.

  4. Future activities • We have started discussions on developing EHR. • We have classified clinical information that would be used for EHR. Clinical summaries, lab results, images, waveforms, etc. • As the first step, HL7-Japan standardized documents recorded on media. And we will investigate use cases for distributing the media. • The format for it is CDA2. • Some doctors say that they need clinical summaries should link to a few specific images. Therefore, we have to have KIN profile for Japanese clinical sites.

  5. Future Activities-to be continued • We will have to have common interpretations of DICOM tags. Currently, sometimes the interpretation differs from vendor to vendor. That has sometimes caused to disturb sharing image information among facilities.
