Amplitude. TRB3 Time. TRB3 time is composed from 2 information Coarse time (CT) (11 bits, granularity 5ns, range ~10us, system clock 200MHz) Fine time (FT) (10 bits, granularity ~15ps, range 5ns, needs to be calibrated!) Time=(CT+FT* NormFactor )*5ns EPOCH counter, time > 10us.

  1. Amplitude

  2. TRB3 Time • TRB3 time is composed from 2 information • Coarse time (CT) (11 bits, granularity 5ns, range ~10us, system clock 200MHz) • Fine time (FT) (10 bits, granularity ~15ps, range 5ns, needs to be calibrated!) • Time=(CT+FT*NormFactor)*5ns • EPOCH counter, time > 10us

  3. Fine time distribution

  4. Coarse time distribution

  5. Fine time distribution

  6. Coarse time distribution

  7. Pulse width distribution

  8. Pulse width distribution

  9. Current status • TRB3 testing in Belgrade wasn’t successful due to the problems with pulse shape and Padiwa • Falling edge of pulse is more problematic than the rising one • According to already recorded data, it seems that we essentially needs Q2T (or QDC) information, not pulse width • Otherwise, we will be very vulnerable to pulse shape fluctuations - QDC is needed for amplitude walk correction (leading edge timing!)

  10. Conclusion • TRB3 still very promising • In my opinion, this is normal problems which we facing during testing the new equipments which is cutting edge of tehnology • We underestimate problems and time needed for evaluation! • Waiting for data recorded in CERN!

  11. THE END

  12. New test system Needs changes in Padiwa FPGA, has to be check with Michael is it possible
