  6. Moving from Academic to PreAP Math The same as skipping a full year of math! Math Lab 8th grade English & Reading are combined – for all students Reading Elective Math Reading Reading Elective and Math Lab are required if students do not meet level two standard on STAAR

PreAP Courses • Good grades to stay in • A’s in Academic Course to get in • To move into Pre AP Math additional criteria as determined by the district • Positive attitude • Willing to work hard and study hard • Great organizational skills • Good study habits and good work habits • Faster, harder, and higher expectations • LOTS OF HOMEWORK!!! • Consider balancing academics & extracurricular activities

  8. GT Courses • ONLY mark a GT Course if you are currently enrolled in the 7th grade equivalent of that course! • If you are currently being screened for GT, sign up for PreAP.
