MIS-MATCH THREADS At normal status of thread rolling process for machine threads,at times there’ll be mis-match threads occurs is very low;however,once it happens, no sorting equipment can detect this problem. If parts used for automatic Assembly line has mis-match thread parts mixed in the batch, it will cause the assembly line to jam and shut- down ,which usually would then result a big loss!!
DIFFICULT TO DETECT / OR SORT OUT MIS-MATCH THREAD PROBLEM • When mis-match threads occurs, it only appears on a particular axial portion of threads, thus it’s not obvious to be seen, because the rest of thread areas look normal in general. • Optical sorting machine cannot sort out this problem. • Screw with mis-match threads are not functional on any application.
THE REASONS FOR MIS-MATCH THREADS OR BLANK THREADS • Surface of thread rolling die is slippery. • Burrs or tiny foreign pieces stuck on thread rolling die. • Occasional un smoothness or un-stable in thread rolling process. • Other unknown factors. Above reasons will cause the thread rolling die to roll up or down on screws and result mis-match threads or blank threads.
SOLUTIONS TO MIS-MATCH THREAD/BLANK THREAD PROBLEM As seen on left-hand side photo • Blue coded(C,D)is Thread rolling die • Yellow coded(A)is the Upper Electrical conductance board • Yellow coded(B)is the Lower Electrical conductance board • Black coded (E) is the Groove • Red arrow is the direction of screw been pushed forward • Green arrow is the direction of screw been rolled up or down. • Thread rolling die (D) and Electrical conductance board (C,D) are in-conductible from each other. During thread rolling process, screws will move forward toward the Red arrow direction; when previously mentioned factors occur . 1)if thread blank is over-length, screws will be pushed upward and touch Board A to result conductivity and automatically shut down the machine.2)if Mis-match thread problem happens, screws will be pushed downward and touch Board B and into Groove E to result conductivity to result conductivity and automatically shut down the machine. In either case, machine operator is aware of the Blank thread or Mis-match thread problem; such bad thread screws will be removed and thread rolling machine will be checked and fixed before re-start its operation.
