Sin No More… DRUNKENNESS • Definition of DRUNKENNESS: • Being in a state in which one’s physical and mental faculties are impaired; • Intoxicated with alcohol to the extent of losing control over normal physical & mental functions • Intoxicated; drunk; inebriated; tipsy; fuddled; • the opposite of sober, being of sound mind

We Must Walk Soberly • I Peter 4:1-4 – • “For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles – when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.”
We Must Walk Soberly • I Thessalonians 5:1-9 – • “But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.”

Conclusion • Drunkenness is sin & we must treat it that way. • Drunkenness is serious. • Drunkenness separates us from God, from God’s blessings, and from God’s promises. • Drunkenness will keep us out of heaven. • We are to walk soberly and put on the Lord Jesus Christ, making no provision for the flesh.
Conclusion • Ephesians 5:18 – “ do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.”
