Eph 6:24 – “Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.” Grace (charis) is as appropriate at the end of this epistle as it is at the beginning. Eph 1:2 - Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace is used similarly in Paul’s benedictions in Rom, 1 Cor, 2 Cor, Gal, Phil, Col, 1 Thess, 2 Thess, 1 Tim, 2 Tim, Titus, Phmn. McCalley – ‘Grace is the distinguishing mark of all Paul’s letters. It has recurred throughout Ephesians (1:2, 7; 2:5, 7-8; 3:2, 8; 4:7). It has a definite article with it indicating previous reference—the grace that he has previously written so much about in this epistle.’ Many commentators translate Grace here as ‘In sincerity’ (that which is incorruptible)– do you agree? Thank you Lord for this epistle – it is foundational for our position in Christ. The Epistle to the Ephesians Ephesians 6:21-24 Conclusion of the Epistle 4 Jan 20, 2019 Bob Eckel
