This workshop paper presents a study on the detection of gravity waves on Mars using limb sounding and the S-Transform analysis technique. The results highlight the potential of the Mars Climate Sounder (MCS) instrument for studying atmospheric internal gravity waves and identify key sources of these waves. The seasonal cycle and climatological features are also observed. The paper concludes with suggestions for further exploration of the MCS data.

Conclusions • MCS is an excellent platform for studying atmospheric internal gravity waves • MCS results are limited by resolution in many places • Clear climatological features can be observed, and key sources identified • The seasonal cycle is clearly evident. • Large potential still exists for exploring the data submitted to Icarus: A one-year seasonal analysis of Martian gravity waves using MCS Data MCS GW Detection Corwin Wright, corwin.wright@univ-brest.fr
