  2. Rules of Scientific Diagrams Each diagram MUST include: • Title • Magnification • Date • Detail • Labels • Each diagram MUST: • Be drawn on a blank paper • Be drawn in pencil • Be at least 10 cm in diameter • Be professional (e.g. lines drawn with rulers)

  5. IMPORTANT NOTE • Diagrams must be very descriptive and require many components in order to be properly understood

  6. Diagram Components • Title • Magnification • Date • Labels • Detail

  7. Diagrams need a….. • The title needs to tell the viewer what the diagram is supposed to be representing title

  8. Diagrams need a….. • The magnification tells the viewer how many times the object has been “blown up” in size • Will be either 40x, 100x, or 400x in this unit magnification

  9. Diagrams need a….. • The date tells the viewer what day the diagram was drawn on date

  10. Diagrams need….. • The diagram requires labels to tell the viewer what each part of the diagram is labels

  11. Diagrams need.…. • The diagram needs to be detailed enough to show contours and textures between different parts • Do NOT use colour (pencil crayons) when drawing biological drawings detail

  12. Professional Guidelines • Blank paper • Drawn in pencil • Neat and professional • Use Petri Dish or compasses to draw your field of view I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY DIAGRAM THAT DOES NOT FOLLOW THE PROFESSIONAL GUIDELINES
