Collaboratories: State of the Art • Internet and web has cross all the geographical boundaries and make the whole world a small place • Collaborative is a place without any physical existence, where people achieve their common goals by using different tools and methods and technologies (different groupware solutions). • Scientists are using different tools for collaboration • The current existing approach and methods of collaboration are, a. Peer-to-peer,b. Mentor-studentc.Interdisciplinaryd. Producer-consumerand as well as different methods are, • a. Synchronous (real time), b. Asynchronous • In spite of these technological advancement there are many issues which arises with these solutions like, • Issues about security. • Issues for fulfillment of organizational needs. • Scalability issues for growing needs • These all needs profound research and analysis

Bottleneck in VO Network c. Recognition of new-born VO Technology d. Cost in VO Technology some currently used solutions are introduced for both VO Managing and Technical Challenges.
Collaboratories: Current existing solutions • There are various types of tools which scientists are using for collaboration and their teamwork depends upon these new technological tools. • These tools allow them to share their desktops, share whiteboards, web conferencing, voice conferencing and even using mobile technologies for collaboration and communication. • Currently NASA is using the tools like WEBEX for web conferencing (real time collaboration), and Jabber (asynchronous collaboration) and Mailman for managing the mailing lists. • The tools like Oracle Collaboration suite can be a whole package of all methods of collaboration for the organizations. It supports almost every platforms and supports almost all kinds of mobile devices. • As a whole in comparison with one to other different tools have their own feature and can meet the needs differently according to demand.
