  6. Classroom Policies • School-wide Behavior Plan • 7:50-Arrive in class, No sooner! Must go to new gym or cafeteria before. Please do not wait in the hallway until 7:50! • 3:05-Dismissal for ALL students. Your child must meet you in the new gym before signing out. • 3:45-Children not picked up will be escorted to office • Planners and Weekly Purple folders • Classroom Behavior Plan

  8. Homework Readers Fluency Sheets (Math & Reading) You can always do math facts with your child READ, READ, READ!

  9. Experts say thatchildren should read 20-30 minutes a day…but WHY?

  10. Does it REALLY make a difference? Let’s see…

  11. If “Child A” reads for 5 minutes a day, five times a week, she’ll be reading25 minutes per week.

  12. If “Child B” reads for 30 minutes a day, five times a week, he’ll be reading at least150 minutes per week.

  13. Since there are 4 weeks in a month: Child A will read 100 minutes each month. While Child B will read 600 minutes each month.

  14. There are 12 months in a year so… reads 1,200 minutes a year. reads 7,200 minutes a year.

  15. Grading • Please look at graded work that is sent home in purple folders each week to see how your child is doing. • These papers will typically be sent home in weekly Monday folder on the “Return to School” side.
