3. As A Child Seamus Heaney was born in Derry 1939. His father was Patrick Heaney. He was a farmer. His mother was Margaret McCann. He was the oldest child in his family. He went to school in Anahorish Primary School. When he was 12 years old he won a scholarship to St. Columb’s College, a Catholic school.
