The Economic Agreement • Ribbentrop (German Foreign Minister) and Molotov (Soviet Foreign Minister) signed on August 19, 1939. • Soviets: Food & Raw Materials • Germany: Furnished Products {Ex: Machinery} • German bypass British blockades
Nazi Soviet Pact {German-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact and Ribbentrop Molotov Pact} • Stated that: -No attack -Problems handled peacefully -Wouldn’t get involved in war {Supposed to last 10 years…lasted less than two}
Secret Protocol • Affected Eastern Europe • Germany was giving the Soviets the Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania). • Poland was also to be divided between the two • Soviets feel secure
