Fine Art/Art & Design GCSE If you choose Art at GCSE you will learn about art, craft and design through time and from different cultures You will produce your own portfolio of work. Your will explore a range of Fine Art skills. You will need to continue your work outside of lessons too. .
Fine Art Painting If you choose to take Art you will be expected to purchase a range of art materials to enable you to work at home as well. This is vital if you are to achieve a good grade. This is a tonal painting by a Year 11 student based on Pop Art
GCSE Ceramics Three dimensional Art You will learn how to create art in three dimensions. This may be in the form of ceramic tiles, sculptural forms or vessels that have a use. Projects that you may do could be inspired by everyday objects or the work of other artists .
Organic and Functional Vessels
BTEC Art & Design This is avocational Art & Design option that enables you to understand more about the use of art and design in the creative industry. Units of work may include Food & Drink, Zoomorphic Architecture, Corsets and Bodices or Recycled Art. This will give you a good basis to go on to a more advanced work-related qualification.
Recycled Art Chairs
You are encouraged to continue your studies at home which really helps to boost your grade. Completing extra work at home or Art Club at lunch time or after school, will also improve your skills. If you are creative and enjoy learning new things then take ART!
