  2. History: 1973-2007 • IE Business School was created thirty years ago as a private initiative designed to offer postgraduate training programs in the field of business administration and senior management

  3. IE’s positions in recent rankings • Financial Times, November 2007: European Business Schools, 5th in Europe • The Economist, September 2007: MBA Ranking, 4th in Europe, 9th worldwide • Forbes, September 2007: MBA ranking, 4th worldwide

  4. An international student community • Total number of students in master programs: 1500 • 675 study in English programs • Students of 80 diferent nationalities • 60% of foreign students

  5. Faculty • IE’s international faculty is made up of nearly 100 full-time and over 300 part-time professors: around 50% are international

  8. International focus • Another product of IE’s firm commitment to the internationalization process is a client portfolio with clients like Adecco, Amadeus, Banesto, Daimler Chrysler, Grupo Santander, Heineken, Indra, Pfizer, Siemens, Skandia, Telefónica, etc.

Online education • IE is a pioneer in Europe in the development of online learning for professionals • In 2002 IE unveiled its online executive education division which develops online training modules that form part of presential and blended programs as well as programs carried out 100% online

  11. Online education • A prime example of this new concept of online training program design is the Global MBA, a program that permits participants to combine their master program with professional responsibilities, and which can be taken over the course of 18 months

  12. Innovation: Research centers IE runs a number of centers dedicated to research and development in key areas. They include, for example: • Center for Diversity in Global Management (fosters international integration of diversity as a competitive advantage) • Euro-Latin America Center (a link between European and Latin American business) • Center for Negotiation and Mediation

  13. International accreditations • IE is fully recognized by the three leading accreditation agencies in the business education arena: AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.

  14. International alliances • IE is one of the founding members of SUMAQ, a network comprising leading business schools in Spain and Latin America. This alliance of eight business schools pools the resources of over 500 faculty spread over 11 campuses in Europe and Latin America.

  15. International alliances • IE enjoys other alliances and agreements with institutions like Northwestern School of Law, and the Fletcher School at Tufts University, with whom it has implemented a dual degree

  16. International alliances • IE also has an agreement with the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business to run the Global Senior Management Program (GSMP), • In the area of Entrepreneurship, IE has created the Family Business Institute with Tec de Monterrey Business School in Mexico.

  17. International Advisory Board • IE receives the input of a high-profile international advisory board made up of 56 key figures from commerce, industry, banking and government, who guide the school’s strategic lines of action

  18. IE University • In January 2007 IE acquired 80% of SEK University in Segovia (Spain). The new university will be competing with elite European and U.S. universities for the best candidates
