Kamen Music School. The Kamen Music School is a Private School for exceptional music students who play any instrument. We have 15 teachers on staff, covering all instrumental instruction. We also have excellent performing groups to join such as Chorus, Orchestra, and Band.

  1. Kamen Music School

  2. The Kamen Music School is a Private School for exceptional music students who play any instrument. We have 15 teachers on staff, covering all instrumental instruction. We also have excellent performing groups to join such as Chorus, Orchestra, and Band. We have begun a Music Technology Production group as well. General Information

  3. Our Building • Our building is located at 123 Pomona Rd., in Pomona N.Y. • We have 15 private lesson rooms, three large rooms for performing groups, a large production room, recording room, and five other practice rooms for students to use at any time.

  4. Special Events • The Kamen Music School has many exciting events throughout the year. • Some events are the Autumn Ball, Winter Concert, Valentine’s Night of Ballads, Spring Swing, Summer Festival, and our famous Multicultural Day!

  5. MULTICULTURAL DAY • Our Multicultural Day comes in between our Summer Festival and our Autumn Ball, in the month of September. • We start the day with an assembly of all students and staff where we speak about the importance of music around the world.

  6. Performances and Dining • There will be four large performances and a huge festive meal half way through the performances. • Three of the performances will be by our very own musical groups who practice very hard! • The fourth and final music group is a special treat for the Kamen Music School.

  7. Performances • First will be our concert band playing music from South America. • Second will be our orchestra playing music from Europe. • Third will be our Chorus singing songs from many different countries. • The final performance will be the Playing for Change Band, with members from around the world!

  8. Dining • Wait until you see the spread of food from all the cultures represented in our school! • We have a pot luck meal where everyone brings a dish from their own culture to share. • All students are encouraged to bring at least one thing for the meal if not more!

  9. Meet and Greet • After the last performance, the audience will have the chance to meet with any and all of the musicians who performed at the Multicultural Day performance.

  10. Closing Ceremonies • After the meet and greet portion of the day, the Multicultural Day comes to a close with some speakers. • Students from the school as well as parents and community members are asked to speak about Multiculturalism and its role in music. • The head of the music school makes the last comments to bring the day to a close.
