  1. Type of Rugs Constructions Looking for the rugs for your space? Our rug world is the best place for you. You can choose the best rug for your room with us. Construction means how the rugs are made, which gives all the difference. Whether it's a hand-hooked one or a hand-knotted rug, the construction matters: It will determine the texture, look, quality, and longevity of the rug. Here are some standard rug constructions to note while choosing a rug. ▪TUFTED RUGS Tufted rugs are created without knots. Instead, the yarn loops are pulled through the rug's backing element using a hand-held machine tool. The circles are then sheared to create a smooth cut-pile surface. Since less work is involved in constructing a hand-knotted rug, even the highest-quality tufted rugs can be produced relatively inexpensively and quickly. One thing to consider: Tufted rugs scattered more than other rugs and may need more frequent vacuuming. Copyright © 2021 Rugs Direct.

  2. ▪HOOKED RUGS Hooking is somehow like tufting, but the yarn loops stay intact. Loops of yarn are pulled by the rug's backing material using a machine or a hand-held hooking needle. Instead of being sheared like tufted rugs, the circles are left alone, creating a knobby embroidered look. ▪FLATWEAVES Flatweaves do not have a pile because they are woven on a loom. Flat-woven rugs are made by hand or machine weaving vertical yarns (warps) through the horizontal threads (wefts). Because they aren't woven onto a support, the rugs are reversible. ▪HAND-KNOTTED RUGS That is the most labour-intensive rug-making procedure. Weavers tie individual knots to warp up the yarns that make up the length of the rug. These knots form the pile, or surface, of the rug. Because artisans craft them, no two hand-knotted rugs are exactly alike. So if you are looking for Floor Rugs, our Rugs Christchurch is the place to make your choice perfect. Rugs Wellington has a variety of products to offer you the best choice. You can also choose Flat Weave Rugs from us to explore something easy to use for your busy days.
