  1. California Department of Social Services Guide To: Deceased Persons Match (DPM)

  2. History: • Public Law 105-379 • In 2001, the DPM was implemented statewide.

  3. Data Sources: • Medi-Cal Master Extract File (MMEF) from Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) • Social Security Administration (SSA)

  4. Criteria: The DPM uses recipients Social Security Number (SSN) and matches it against the SSA’s death master File.

  5. Tolerance Level: DPM does not provide tolerance levels for CalWORKs and CalFresh. Counties will receive DPM information for each case that has a match.

  6. Frequency: • The match is sent semi-annually.

  7. Method: • Golden State Overnight (GSO) courier A receipt of acknowledgement (included in the package) is required to be faxed back to CDSS

  8. Age of Data: This information is current upon receipt by the County.
